Bridge to nowhere gets a scrub down. 2026
Hidden deep in the bush, a Kiwi icon gets a fresh new lease on life 🌿✨
Just in time for International Day of Monuments and Sites (today), the legendary Bridge to Nowhere has had a carefully crafted ‘facelift’—thanks to some seriously dedicated contractor crews.
At nearly 90 years old, this historic structure still stands strong above Mangapurua Valley, about a 40-minute walk from the start of the track—but regular TLC is what keeps it that way. From sandblasting steel to repairing concrete, it’s all about protecting this piece of Aotearoa’s story for future generations.
