Well Known horse trainer Kevin Gray has lived in the Lower North Island for many years. He has trained nigh on a thousand winners, including a Million dollar race in Hawkes Bay, The Australian Oaks, he even started a horse in the Melbourne Cup. But it hasn’t been an easy ride, and it all started from very humble beginnings in Waverley.
Kevin talks about growing up in the Patea district, school milk, the Polish boys at Hawera high, going to dances and the visit of the Queen to Taranaki in the 50’s.
Kevin also talks about how he met his wife, his family, and then tells how he started his racing career and the trials and successes it brought him.
