Lindsay McLeod talks about Parihaka

Lindsay grew up at Parihaka and worked at the New Plymouth District Council, where he viewed his role as building meaningful, effective and enduring relationships between iwi and the Council, and the wider community.

“His  work over the decades with Fletcher Challenge, NPDC, various businesses, and hapu and iwi has been part of a substantial shift towards greater understanding of tikanga Maori in the region.

In 2009 Mr McLeod was awarded the Queen’s Service Medal for services to Maori.
