Mt Messenger – first Bridge under construction

As part of the bypass project we’re constructing 2 bridges. We’ve started construction of ‘Bridge 1’, located towards the southern end of the project. It will be a 125-metre-long steel box girder structure, with a concrete deck sitting on raked steel supports that will minimise impact on the wetland below.

Both bridges are designed to be resilient, low maintenance and long lasting. They are integral to helping us tread lightly on the land.
