Opunake Board Riders Classic 2009 – all 3 parts

The Opunake Board Riders Classic surfing competition was held in challenging conditions at Arawata Road, Opunake, Taranaki, New Zealand on January 3, 2009. All the surfers showed tremendous skills in performing in the rough and blustery gale force condtions. Part 1 provides viewers with some background about the Opunake Classic and the first part of the final heats of the Open Womens,, Under 18’s, Open Mens and Over 35’s. Part 2 and 3 completes the  competition and shifts to the prizegiveing later that afternoon. A big thanks to everyone who participated in the event and especially to the Opunake Board Riders, whose members led by president and local legend Harry James put on one of the best competitions in Taranaki, New Zealand.
