Tāngaengae – Te Whakangungu A Short Film

A journey of three Taranaki cousins learning the art of mau-rakau at a young age.

Eventually, two of them move overseas and return 10 years later to learn that their tohunga had passed.

Discovering a sacred portal they enter into the old world to find their tohunga and his teacher and continue their training.

Completing the training the students are expecting to graduate and receive a sacred taiaha but learn something else is in stored for them…………
