The Rowan Lute – Mark Lauren 2008

The Rowan lute was built for me by Alan Muggeridge in Kaponga, Taranaki, New Zealand, at the beginning of the 1990s.  Alan passed away a few years ago, and he only ever made three of these things, and never wrote an instruction book or tunings for it, so I’ve just tried to learn its voice, and respond to that as well as I can.  This recording is from a house concert in Whanganui, NZ, early 2000s, filmed and edited by Chris Lewis (thanks Chris).
