TV7 Archives “Ken the Magic Man”

This is “Ken the Magic Man” performing to a group of children in Hawera sometime in the early 2000’s. “Jane the Storyteller” was on the same show which is on a separate video.

Alas the sound has been lost from this video but I think you will still enjoy the performance 

Ken was the late grandfather of South Taranaki and Whanganui MP Carl Bates.

He is quoted as saying to Carl

“That his goal in life was to ensure his children did better than he did. With some sleight of hand, ultimately my goal in this House is to ensure that I can tell my grandchildren that our great nation has the First World healthcare, education, and social services that we deserve, because we built a productive First World economy that enabled us to pay for it.”
