Waitara to Bell Block safety improvements update: Here’s a great overview showing the work achieved by workers during the summer closure of State Highway 3 between Nelson and Bayly streets in Waitara.

From 11 December until 2 February, roadworkers tackled multiple sites across both lanes of SH3. To make the most of the closure, we upgraded complex stormwater systems, widened sections of the road, and laid the foundations and precast concrete structure of the underpass. We also installed a watermain for New Plymouth District Council and installed safety barriers along sections of the state highway.
