Women’s Basketball – Australia v New Zealand at New Plymouth 1948

In 1948, Australia toured New Zealand for their first international “women’s basketball” (now netball) series, with the 2nd Test held in New Plymouth. Australia dominated, winning all three tests, including a 44-22 victory in New Plymouth, where NZ’s Thelma Turner scored the first goal. Teams played 7-a-side.
