Aunt Daisy – One of a kind
Maud Ruby Taylor, born in London, England, on 30 August 1879. She migrated to Taranaki, married Fred Bashum a civil engineer and was the sole charge teacher at Warea School. Later in life they headed south and Maud embarked on a Radio career which made her a household name till she passed away at the age of 82. Daisy was a way of life for people to tune in to and be inspired with wonderful new ideas. In this clip she is just returning from North America and shares some strong views of life over there. Filmed in 1946
