BRIEF STATION HISTORY
– The New Q 90FM was launched in the second half of 1989. The station was operated by Radio New Zealand and broadcast to Taranaki on 90.0MHz.
Q 90FM was fully automated outside of breakfast.
In June of 1991, Q 90FM closed down and the 90.0MHz frequency was replaced with a simulcast of its sister station, Radio Taranaki.
In December of 1993, 90FM Radio Taranaki was re-branded as Classic Hits 90FM.
In 2014, Classic Hits 90FM was re-branded as The Hits.
