Gabrielle Barr Pt 1 – Audio

Description

In Taranaki there is a vibrant history of music performance including some great choirs. The excellence of a number of them can be attributed to one person Gabrielle Barr.

But Gabrielle is more than just a music director, she has taught English and Drama as well as directing numerous plays. Gabrielle has also taught singing and is responsible for a number of rising stars.

She has raised 5 children, and has always been very supportive to her husband Jim, also widely known for his theatrical endeavours, on their farm at Pihama.

The Audio History Trust would like to thank the Barr family for allowing them to add this privately funded Audio Documentary into their collection.

A Sound Snapshop Production, narrated by Hamish Guthrie.

Part 2 of Gabrielle’s Audio Documentary is on this link.
