The name Cavaney is synonymous with the pharmacy service in the Opunake and plains area of Taranaki. Grant Cavaney retired in 2009 after taking over the Opunake Pharmacy from his father in the 1973. Grants father had been the local area pharmacist for many years before that – both men gave many years of dedicated service to the community.

But Grant was more than a pharmacist – he had many other interests which included soap manufacturing the form of Egmont Soaps – this is his story.
