Jim Barr is a very well-known and respected identity in Coastal Taranaki. He farmed at Pihama for many years but was also very well known in the NZ Theatre community. He directed many plays for local societies, won a number of national theatre competitions and was for a time National president of the NZ Theatre Federation.
Jim’s father was a farmer also but their forebears had come to NZ from a number of sources.
