Kakaramea Hall is 100 years old! 2024
On St Patrick’s day they had a brilliant day to celebrate the Kakaramea Hall being 100 years old!
So lovely to see old friends catching up on old and new stories. Marie Dwyer told us the history of the hall, of the many people who have looked after it over the years, and some of the fun and varied events it has held.
Jacq Dwyer talked of the history of the Kakaramea settlement throughout the last 100 years.
A delicious lunch from Red Rock Catering was shared and some Guinness and whisky to mark St Patrick’s Day followed.
A big mihi/thankyou to everyone who helped make this day a real celebration and recognition of what it means to be a community. It doesn’t happen by good luck, it happens by having good neighbours and friends.
All the great photos for the video were taken by Michelle and Jacq Dwyer
