Margaret Ockhuysen was born in the Netherlands. She moved to Taranaki when she was in her 20’s to be with her fiancé Bob. They later married, raised a family and became an integral part of the Opunake Community.

In this audio documentary Margaret talks about growing up in the Netherlands and what life was like there during WW 2 under the German Occupation.

She talks about her journey to NZ, her first jobs, helping her Husband Bob establish his business which was later to become one of Opunake’s  prime retail shops ….Morris and Ockhuysen.
