Patea Wharf – Wood Loading from the SS Kohi at the Patea Wharf. 1960’s
A movie taken by Gordon Hughson in the early 1960’s of logs being unloaded from SS Kohi at the Patea Wharf. The Port of Patea had officially closed in 1959. Around this time the Patea Public Relations Committee was formed and were part of an effort to get the Port used again. These men were part of this committee. Kevin Bourke, Arthur Hurley, Jo Laird, Ian Hill, Gordon Hughson and Jim Appleton feature. There is also a farewell presentation to Rev Ivor McIvor, then the SS Kohi heads down the river out to sea.
