Footage capturing the Ratapiko School Reunion on 2nd March 2013 at Ratapiko School – celebrating 125 years between 1888 and 2013. Ratapiko is a typical North Island New Zealand high rainfall Dairy Sheep Cattle Cropping district of Inglewood in Eastern Taranaki. It is east of the highway between Inglewood and Stratford turning at the Tariki turnoff – 15 minutes towards Lake Ratapiko.
The Ratapiko Country School reunion shows the school in its last days before its inevitable closure with only a handful of pupils making the meeting place of families in the district. However this district has a rich history of as many as 70 pupils at the school back in 1960’s. It brought back together the generations of pupils and there was a grand parade of farm machinery thanks to the volunteers of love their tractors.
