Recalling the Springbok Tour protest march in Eltham 1981

During the 1981 protest against the Springbok Tour of 1981 more than 150,000 protested in 28 centres. Perhaps the smallest protest was the Friday night protest march in Eltham, where the 14 protesters got pelted with eggs and flour by hundreds of people. Bryan Kyle told the story on Wednesday night when John Minto was in New Plymouth (on the 40th anniversary of the NP protest on July 29, 1981, when the Springboks played Taranaki at Rugby Park).
