Roger Cox
In 1987 the inaugural World Champion Shearing Contest was held in Wales. The title was won by a New Zealander from Taranaki, Roger Cox.
Roger had already won the Golden Shears title that year, and went on to win a further two more Golden Shears’ titles before finally retiring from the sport in 1985.
But how did the boy from Taranaki become that good and able to beat the world’s best?
This is his story.
