The Rewa Rewa Bridge New Plymouth
In New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand we have a foreshore walkway. The original walkway hugs the coast from Port Taranaki passed downtown New Plymouth and the Wind Wand for ten kiilometers to the Waiwakaiho River mouth. The river has always been a barrier to extending the walkway a further ten k’s to Bell Block to the north. The New Plymouth District Council decided to extend the walkway this year by bridging the river. The beautiful new bridge is now a centre point toe the walkway and is attracting huge numbers of walkers and cyclists. This video celebrates this new bridge.
